Malcolm,

yes, without any problem. The server is used as a webserver and
this
works fine.
The only thing that is different is that appache is runnign as a
other
user than wwwrun. We have done this for a PHP application that we
use.

Hi
It may be an issue with the website (NCC) then. Can you try again
and
confirm if it’s not working.

The initial error 35 is from curl. “man curl” reports:

35 SSL connect error. The SSL handshaking failed

What I would try is to use wget and see if that is able to connect to
the
Novell update server and see what that reports.

wget https://nu.novell.com

Check if that doesn’t want to pass a proxy on the way to the internet.
If
it fails report the output. If it reports handshake errors and asks to
use a insecure option, try that as well and report the output.

I’m having the exact same issue. Here is the next response:

wget https://nu.novell.com

–2011-10-14 17:09:10-- https://nu.novell.com/
Connecting to 10.254.17.139:3128… connected.
Proxy tunneling failed: Proxy Authentication RequiredUnable to
establish SSL connection.
