I am building my first susemanager (3.1) and I have not yet instigated backups. I have several clients registered and I removed the contents of /etc/salt in error. Is there any way of recovering the contents or will I have to rebuild the whole susemanager installations.

Is the install using the btrfs filesystem and snapper? If so you can go in and restore via YaST or rollback to a snapshot where it was present.
No btrfs was not being used so in the en I had to rebuild the server
