Reiserfs inode count is 0

Hi,

I am new to SUSE i have installed SUSE Ent Server 10 SP2 64-bit OS on my Server . When i am trying to see the inode count ( used, free ) for ext3 fs by giving df -i command the inode count is ok. But where as for reiserfs the inode used and free count is showing as “Zero” “0”. What could be the problem is there any other command to see the inode count for reiser fs…??

Please Help…

Thanks in advance.

Hi rajeshdaripalli,

ReiserFS does not have persistent inodes, by design.

Jens

you simply cannot. ReiserFS, by design, does not impose such a limit (other than by free disk space).

Is there any particular reason that you’re installing this version of SUSE
Linux Enterprise Server?

It’s just that SLES11 SP2 is the latest available version with SLES10 SP4
the latest for the SLES10 line.
