Running Kubernetes on SLES 12 SP2

Hi all

Does anybody know or have experience setting up kubernetes on SLES 12SP2? There’s no guide at all. I followed the official kubernetes setup guide but unfortunately it isn’t working. Docker’s running without problems.
Environment
Provider: VMware
OS: SLES v12.2
Kernel: Linux kube 4.4.59-92.20-default #1 SMP Wed May 31 14:05:24 UTC 2017 (8cd473d) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
docker version: 1.12.6
kubernetes version: v1.6.1

Thanks and best regards
Dominik

I’ve not tried this but if you can provide a link to the guide you
followed I’ll take a look.

You may also be interested to know that SUSE are readying their CaaS
Platform which includes orchestration with Kubernetes. For more

Hi Simon

I’ve followed the offical kubernetes guide: https://kubernetes.io/docs/setup/independent/create-cluster-kubeadm/#24-initializing-your-master
We’re going to use the new MicroOS, but before we’ll need to do a lot of politic stuff

Thank you and best regards
Dominik

In your original message you said “it isn’t working”. At which stage are
you finding it’s not working? Do you seen any (error) messages?

In my experience that’s always more difficult than the technical stuff! :frowning:

I just tried to compile everything by myself and wow it’s working

Great news! Whilst you’re now sorted you may find
https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=Virtualization%3Acontainers&package=kubernetes
useful for future - click on SLE then I suggest on “Add repository and
install manually”. Note that just like compiling and installing your own
packages these are unofficial and unsupported by SUSE.
