Have an issue with several SLES servers in our network.
SNMP (via Solarwinds) reports that a server is using 97% of it’s
memory
TOP via command line reports that the server has 4145232K of memory and
is using 38077872K
GNOME-SYSTEM-MONITOR reports that the server is using 559Mib of memory
out of 4.0GiB
so readings one and two concern me, but reading 3 says everything is
fine…
Which one is correct? and how do we make sure the correct one is
reported to snmp?
Thanks!

You’ll need to supply more information. You don’t say what version
SLES?..x64? OES2? What else is running? Virtualized or no?
These would all affect it. Plus I think x64 SLES has problems with
SNMP…might be wrong on this, but I think it does.

SLES 10SP2, SLES11, and SLES11SP1 both x86 and x64
some are virtual, some are not. All physical run on HP hardware, the
Virtual host is VMWARE
none are OES, some do have eDir , 2 have IDM , others are straight
linux used for non novell things
