Well, considering 9pm PDT, then the 30th is basically over…just
because you stay up till all hours of the night and day doesn’t mean its
not “tomorrow” for those that initially read the thread in the morning
It will be interesting. To this point we haven’t legally been allowed to talk
strategy to our counterparts on the HPES side, only to meet and introduce
ourselves. A lot of things will be changing starting on Friday with the web
sites. Well, actually, if you’ve seen the http side of the forums site http://forums.microfocus.com you’ll notice the categorization has changed
significantly in being prepared for the merger.
In one place I heard that we will be the 4th largest software company in the
world. In another the 7th largest. I don’t know what reality is.
Once the merger is complete, we can start moving forward on community
consolidation which will be interesting as we will have approximately 170
products to support.
Ben, I’d stilll like to see you rejoin our KP program under the new
participation guidelines wher you earn cool solutions rewards. Much different
than when you were a KP previously. Contact me if you’re interested.
I already know some of the changes planned, especially around support
(which sounds like it will be great - but we’ll see), and have seen the
forum changes…also heard about having to have lawyers in the room for
every co-meeting (joys of the legalities of big company mergers)…
Still dunno about the KP thing…tend to ask more questions and vent
frustration than help others with their questions (which is what I see
is the real aim of the program)…available time is also always in flux
depending on workload and CBF status

I only count replies to other people’s posts. No minimum required. The
reason I keep asking? Look at the 365 day top poster block on the right side
of http://forums.microfocus.com Even your frustration vents are valuable.
Not sure about that count…I bet the majority is replies to posts I
started (especially now that engineering are more engaged with the
forums and providing some support on here)…
Need an intuitive engine that parses replies and determines “solution”
versus “problem” posts…then I think I’d fall way back down the
list…mind you, I don’t think anyone will ever match/beat Aaron and
Geoff, although Laura is giving it a good go

Laura topped that list for a long time…until she was hired by Micro Focus.
She’s still active, but not as much as before. I think all three of them are
kind of crazy, but now that they earn good stuff for participating, they have
bigger smiles on their faces. Geoffrey heard there were now points involved
and he went a little nuts. I suspect he’ll top the 365 day list before too
much longer.

That could be, but that doesn’t matter. I’ve seen how much you know. I’ve
seen you jump into other’s threads. I have a good idea of what your
skill/knowledge level is. I’d like to start properly rewarding that when you
do jump in to help someone else.
