I am in the middle of the SP1 upgrade and the total size of packages to update is 2.2 GB. my /usr mount only has 2 GB available. Do all of the packages go into this volume? I’m afraid I’m going to run out of space and really bork the server up. HELP!!!

Figured this out!! /var and /usr both have files installed.
Where files end up depends entirely on which packages are being changed
by those files. Besides /usr and /var you likely have things modifying
/bin, /sbin, /etc, and so on.
Keep in mind that while the patch may have 2.2 GB of stuff changing,
that doesn’t necessarily mean 2.2 GB of additional space being used, so
you may only end up using 200-ish MB more space. This is where a test
environment comes in handy.
Good luck.
