sporadic no connect/no services respond (ping work steady)

[]we use a newer FCS Server.

]We use new SAP B1 HANA Edition with embedded SLES
[]If we didn´t use the new system for a while we cannot access the services (like samba, SSH, or SAP Client)

]But PING is allways working.
[]It returns to work after we ping or after we tried X times - but we are not sure at this point.

]What do you think can be the cause?

Hi Peter,

anything in the logs, and would you be able to read a network trace?

Most important would be to find out if this is some network (or client) error (IOW - the requests don’t reach the server) or some problem at the server machine. To distinguish this, I’d run a tcpdump at the server to see what’s coming in once your “inactivity timer” expired.

How long, per your experience, do you need things to be idle to reach this stage? How’s the network infrastructure between your client and your server - any dynamically started tunnels, routers in between? Is this some simple LAN connection (same subnet)?

The solution was: IP Adress of LAN-Card was by fault similiar to the IP Adress of Remote Assistance Lights Out LAN Port.
