Ugh! For the 2nd time in four days, we get rain at night before the
snow comes & freezes everything, covering it in ice. My sidewalk was
just cleared off & I was starting to see spots of open concrete on my
driveway.
Right… but that kind of weather lasts about a month out there right?
Here in Northern IL, we have that for 5 solid months.

Ok here in Chicago last Friday we had a snowstorm that dropped around
6-8" of snow (an average storm). Sunday we had rain, even
thunderstorms Sunday night, and by Monday almost all the snow was gone.
Then by Monday night super cold temps and high winds froze all the
standing water from the melted snow.
Yep, out here in the burbs we have more ice on the ground than snow.
Good times.

Gotta love January weather in Wyoming…

We totally lucked out in PA so far. Last week they predicted freezing
rain and it just rained. A few days back they predicted a massive ice
storm and it arrived a few hours late and the temps were already in the
40s. Today it is 50F and raining. Not too bad for late January.

So my response to George’s comment is…
Phew! Sounds like you’ve been dodging bullets. The snow & cold don’t
bother me that much, it’s that freezing rain crap and of course the
wind…ugh
