SUSE Manager 3: virtual-host-gatherer not working

Hello,

I’m trying to get the virtual-host-gatherer on SUSE Manager 3 up and running. vCenter and ESX is 5.5. Entered all information according to the poor documentation.
After pressing the “Refresh data from this Virtual Host Manager” button nothing happens.

rhn_taskomatic_daemon.log says:

And gatherer.log (I think this is the one meant by “virtual-host-gatherer logfile”):

How can I troubleshoot this problem?

Thinking about a network problem I used tcpdump to gather some information on the packets send by virtual-host-gatherer but there was nothing – not even a single SYN. Therefore the problem seems to reside somewhere on the SUMa server itself.

Has been a strange firewall configuration outside of SUSE Manager.
