The first keyboard input ignored after system just booted up

Hi,

Has anyone seen this issue before in SLES11 SP1 running on DELL
PowerEdge R710 or R700 server? For some reason, the first keyboard input
got ignored after the system is just finished boot up. I know it’s
hardware related because I don’t see this issue on other server.

Example: when the OS is finished loading, on the login prompt type
‘root’ the screen only show ‘oot’.

I am not sure why that’s the case. The keyboard is connected via USB.
It does not matter the keyboard is connected to the first USB or the
rear USB connector. Same thing happened.

Any idea where to find the problem?

Hi
Have you tried a different keyboard? Did it detect the correct keyboard
during the install?

I would try a different brand of keyboard. Is this on the same KVM as
your other servers?
