Update binutils package to version 2.28

Hi All,

I am performing an R12.2 Multinodes Vision Installation on SLE 12,
I am stuck with error at 13% (adrunfmw.sh) while configuring Applicatins Texhnology Stack.

Log says “Cannot patch10.1.2 Tools”

As oracle Doc " Update binutils package to version 2.28. If the package is not available in SLES repositories, please work with your OS vendor to obtain the updated package."

Which SP of SLES 12 are you on? Are you subscribed to online
repositories, and have you tried adding pack from them?

sudo zypper patch

The latest I see for SP1 is 2.26, though I do not have SP2 or SP3 beta
media available to check. Since version numbers are often misleading, it
may be worthwhile to check with (I presume) Oracle to see what the
requirement on that version is, as perhaps you can skip it due to
backporting of code/fixes that happens in enterprise software, which
Oracle should understand. I thought that Oracle DB products were declared
supported by both Oracle and SUSE over a year ago, but maybe this product
is different.

Good luck.

Given that the latest version of binutils available for SLES12
through SLES12 SP3 (Beta 1) is 2.26 I’m wondering what the reason
for requiring 2.28 is, perhaps it’s a specific feature that is
required?

Does your reference to “R12.2” and “oracle” suggest this is Oracle
software you’re trying to install? Can you post a link to the
Oracle doc you mention?

Which release of SLES12 are you using? Please post the output from
“cat /etc/*release”.

HTH.
