Updates

Are there really that many fewer updates for SLES11sp1 (64bit) vs
SLES10sp4 (64bit)?

I have both in my envir, and the sles11sp1 servers have almost no
updates come out while the sles10sp4 servers have updates at least a
couple times a week.

Well SLES10 SP4 has been available for longer than SLES11 SP1 so there’s
been more time for issues to have been resolved plus theoretically
SLES11 SP1 shipped with more stable code. It would also depend on
whether those servers are configured with the same software patterns
installed.

If so, your campus could benefit from joining the Technology Transfer

I suspect a contributing factor to lack of SLES SP1 updates is due to it being end of life.
