I have a SLES 11 sp2 with xen installed and 3 virtual machines, to upgrade the host to SLES 11 SP4 without affecting the virtual machines, what needs to be done? When booting, do I boot into the normal SLES 11 sp2 without xen starting up? and upgrade to SLES 11 SP4? Will my virtual machines be affected?

Yes you’ll need to boot into SLES11 SP2 without Xen then upgrade
via the online channel.
Note that to upgrade SLES11 SP2 to SLES11 SP4 you first need to
upgrade to SLES11 SP3 - please see https://www.
