we would use sbd stonith device for fencing.

which watchdog module should I use for virtual machines running on Microsoft hyper-v ?

You should use the softdog module. It’s the module used, for example, on Hana clusters deployed with SLES for SAP on MS Azure (Hyper-v underneath).

Thanks for sharing that softdog is been used by MS Azure for HANA Clusters deployed on SLES. I am already using it but was not comfortable(I have no bad experience) about its reliability.
