When applying patch - Exception thrown - UnknownXML

I am evaluating SUMA 3 and when I apply patches to servers, they are successfully applied, but I get a bunch of emails with exceptions for each of the channels. Any idea what is causing this and how to remedy it?

Thx

Exception type <class 'spacewalk.server.apacheRequest.UnknownXML'>
Exception while handling function media.1 Request object information:
URI: /XMLRPC/GET-REQ/sles12-sp2-updates-x86_64/media.1/media
 :
 :
Response sent back to the caller:
While running 'media.1': caught
<class 'spacewalk.server.apacheRequest.UnknownXML'> : Invalid request received (function 'media.1' invalid; path_info is /GET-REQ/sles12-sp2-updates-x86_64/media.1/media).

Checking for “media.1” is zypper’s way to detect if the media (DVD) is bootable. For online repos, the only way is to issue a GET request for the file and continue according to the result (success, error). Don’t worry about these exceptions.

Thanks for the explanation. Problem is, I get 8 emails from SUMA for every server that gets patched. I don’t want to disable notifications because I would like to get “legitimate” exceptions. Is there some way to address this particular “media.1” exception so that it simply will not get thrown for every server getting patched?.

I have the same situation. It is only occure on sles 12 sp2 machine.
In my environment I got the mail for each channel and host. This mean when you have five channels per host and 200 hosts, you will get 1000 mail.

This could not be normal! Should I open a call at SUSE?

regards
Franz

Hi Franz,

There is a PTF for this available that should resolve this problem, but I
don know when the fix will become available yet.

Is this for SUMA 3 on x86_64 ?

Are you able to open a SR perhaps so we can assist you further when
needed ?

Thanks
Hans

Maybe you should open one. I cannot because my evaluation license has expired.
