Has anyone seen situations where ghosted XP PCs start showing messages in
the System log - event ID 11163 The system failed to register host(A)
records …
If you type in IPCONFIG/REGISTERDNS the message goes away for a few days but
then comes back again.

Seems to be a problem with the antivirus software.

Regarding the Event ID: 11163, please refer to the following document
and try the methods:

If the issue persists, please also check the following:

  1. Please check the “Access this computer from the network” policy
    setting.

  1. Check the “Update Security Level” setting.
