I have problem about HP DL360 G7 with SUSE 11 SP1 upgrade to SP4 .
HP server have below problem few days ago.
CAUSE:
The cause may be a non-maskable interrupt (NMI) generated by the Intel Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU) that is not properly handled by the Linux kernel.
An indicator of this type of error is the following message in the IML log at the time of the hang or crash
LOG: An Unrecoverable System Error (NMI) has occurred (System error code 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

HP engineer told us need to updated to SLES 11 SP2 or later.
but I go to find SP4’s release notes , can’t find information about fix this kernel bug.

I can’t help with the above error but I will note that both SLES11 SP1
and SP2 are very old and unsupported by SUSE without Long Term Service
Pack Support (LTSS). You should therefore upgrade to SLES11 SP3 or SP4
but be aware that the upgrade procedure to get to SLES11 SP3 or SP4 is
via the intermediate Service Packs.
So to get to SLES11 SP3 you would need to first upgrade SLES11 SP1 to
SP2 and then SP2 to SP3. To get to SLES11 SP4 you first get to SP2, then
SP2 to SP3, and finally SP3 to SP4.

have you checked the Linux kernel change logs? It’s much more likely to find information regarding a kernel issue in the Linux kernel change log than in some distribution’s log. Think of all the issues that had to be listed not only for the kernel, but all other updated tools as well…
