Hello,
Yesterday I downloaded & installed SLE 12 evaluation.
I installed it in Oracle Virtualbox software version 5.0.8
If I click on ‘Applications’ menu, it’s not loading the menu.
How ever if I click on ‘Places’, the menu expands.
What can be the issue?

I tried to start my SLE12 vm yesterday with xen hypervisor and ‘application menu’ is loading without any issue.
But if I boot SLE 12 without using xenhypervisor option, it fails to load ‘application menu’ in gnome. :-/ Strange.
Probably a OpenGL issue. Try:
# more /etc/environment
COGL_ATLAS_DEFAULT_BLIT_MODE=framebuffer
and hold your SLE-installation up to date.
