Applying SLES 11 SP 2 Causing Communication Issues

Hi

After upgrading from SLES 11 SP1 x86-64 to SLES 11 SP2 x86-64 we are experiencing network problems and they are very similar to the issue below:

We have tried setting “net.ipv4.conf.all.rp_filter = 0”, but it did not solve the problem.

If we reboot the server, the problem returns after 10 minutes to 5-6 hours. We have tried “/etc/init.d/network restart”, remove the default gateway and add it again, and that has the same effect as rebooting the server. The servers still running SLES 11 SP1 does not have this problem.

Has anyone experienced similar problems with SP2?

could you then please be more specific - what exactly is the effect you’re experiencing, what networks/routers (IP-wise) are involved? How’s routing set up on the related hosts? What debugging measures have you already taken and what is your level of expertise with these issues (so we won’t annoy you when stating the obvious :wink: )?
