Several people called me throughout today saying that email either to
them or from them is bouncing. These are both Groupwise and Exchange
users. Some mail seems to get delivered.

No problems here. Maybe it is just you. :-)
Can’t be me. I’m too perfect.
Is it possible to be too perfect? Isn’t that just is or isn’t perfect?
:-)
In today’s relativistic society perfection is a matter of degree as
opposed to an absolute. My level of perfection is more than some people
can appreciate.

Bob Crandell,
ISP Blocking ports? If this is Comcast…then they randomly do
this without notification.
I called Comcast’s techsupport. They said they couldn’t help. Have a
nice day.
The ports aren’t blocked. The bounce message says:
The message that you sent was undeliverable to the following:
User@domain.org (550 Requested action was not taken because this
server doesn’t handle mail for that user)
which is a lie.
I have since determined that the affected people have a common domain
host that isn’t Comcast. Now I’m waiting to hear back from them.
I get reports like that sporadically.
Thing is you never know where the issue is.
Heck, half the time it turns out the sender
that received the so-called ‘bounced message’
never sent it to the correct address to begin with.
