Just upgrded to SP2 and cannot boot the system - error is superblock could not be read - pointing to device /dev/cciss/c1d0p1. The messages say to run "e2fsck -b 8193 on the device. Any one have any ideas or if I should do this? I’m wondering if the SP did something with drivers?

would be my first guess - did you install hardware vendor drivers to access that card?
You might try booting from an SP3 DVD to check if that current SP3 already has the required drivers on board - if no other dependencies exist, you then could do an immediate DVD upgrade to SP3…
