Cannot create bootstrap repo for custom repository

Hi there. I setup SuMa with some repos provided through Suse and then I also added some repos for a different distribution in there as well. Of course when I run mgr-create-boostrap-repo -l then it doesn’t show the custom repos there because it isn’t part of a SuSe back distribution. The distros I have in mind are Oracle RHEL 5, Centos 7, and various debian distros. Please don’t ask me why I’m still on RHEL 5 stuff. my company is slow. So I added the repos and made the channels. How do I make a bootstrap repo for these? I can’t do it using the mgr-create way, so what are my options if any?

Redhat comes with everything needed to register against SUSE Manager (resp. Spacewalk, resp. Redhat Satellite 5) included. You might get around without a bootstrap repo.

Note that RHEL5 does not support ‘Salt’, you need to register such systems as ‘traditional’.

See https://www.suse.com/documentation/suse-manager-3/book_suma_getting-started_31/data/preparing_and_registering_clients.html for further documentation on bootstrap creation and client registration.

Also have a look at the “Expanded Support/RHEL/CentOS/Oracle Linux” section at https://wiki.microfocus.com/index.php?title=SUSE_Manager

This is a good link! This is what I believe I was looking for! Thanks!

With all of the versions of Linux that I talked about, I will still need an activation key right? I’m not sure how to make one being that the Centos7 option doesn’t show up on the drop down menu when creating a new activation key.
