Cant Start IMAPD

Running Enterprise Server 11 SP2.
When I try to start IMAPD I get a message that it is not installed. I tell it to install and it says it can’t. The software manager says it is installed. What do I do to make this work.

Hi Kevin,

could you please show us some cut’n paste of the output of the following, run as root in a console:

  • “rpm -qi cyrus-imapd”
  • if the above says that it isn’t installed, then “zypper in cyrus-imapd”
  • then “rccyrus start”

Jens

Thanks for the help I have since given up and installed scientific linux which also has problems with IMAP. I have never had that problem with slackware however slackware is also pretty hard to setup at times. So with that information I may reboot this machine running suse and try again. If I can get the email system working properly I will use SUSE on this server. The problem is I cant leave this thing not working for long periods of time since it is my main mail server for the MM1001 domain.
