Change Activation Key on already existing host

Hello, i’ve got the problem that two servers were bootstrapped with the wrong Activation Key. Is there any way to change them without having to delete them and register them again?

Thanks in advance for any tips or Information.

You can either delete the client from SUSE Manager and re-register (as you already stated) or you change the channel subscription, but in that case the initially used activation key would still be the same. Why is de- and re-registering not an option for you? It’s quick and clean I’d say.

Actually what is the key for:

  1. set a base channel
  2. add the system to a group
  3. assign configuration channels which will apply the relevant salt states

You can manually change all 3 , but it is way faster to re-register the machine.
