We have an issue with any server updated to SLES 11SP2 in that you cannot tail a file on a cifs share.
The error reported is “cannot seek to offset 0: Bad file descriptor”
If i use the identical mount instructions on a SLES 11 SP1, or SLES10/OES2 servers and try and tail the same file, there is no issue.
The CIFS share is an OES2 server sharing an NSS volume.
It doesn’t matter what file or share I try SLES 11SP2 as the client.
ANy ideas?
