Getting Google Chrome Working on SLED 11 SP2

Add a repository for ZLib 1.2.5, FreeType greater than 1.3.9, and video packages and install those prerequisites packages.
[] Go to YaST > Software Repositories > Add by URL and use the following URLs:
ZLib: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/malcolmlewis:/SLE_11_SPn_General/SLE_11_SP2/
Packman: http://packman.inode.at/suse/SLE_11/
Freetype: http://repos.opensuse-community.org/subpixel/SLE_11/
Chrome: http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/i386
[
] lsb
Available through Install/Remove Software with SUSE Repository
[] zlib, zlib-32bit, zlib-devel
Find the packages, go to Versions, and click the Upgrade button next to 1.2.5.
[
] Subpixel hinting package: zypper in freetype2-feature-subpixel-hinting (see http://opensuse-community.org/SubpixelHinting for more information)
[] Run ‘zypper dup’ from the command line. (see below)
Be aware that you may need to manually download and reinstall Novell Messenger 2.2.1, as it will revert to 2.0.4 and break it in the process.
[
] Install Google Chrome by typing zypper in google-chrome-stable. Alternatively, you can also download the RPM from http://www.google.com/chrome and that should (but doesn’t always) add the update repository.

Make sure to use the 32 bit .rpm (For Fedora/openSUSE). You must use the x86 version of the software, not the 64-bit.
If some of the prerequisites are missing, Chrome will crash when visiting a website that uses Flash.
To allow the Flash plugin to work correctly, you must install the packages below from the Packman repository.
This should happen automatically when running ‘zypper dup’ after adding the repositories listed above.

With these packages, Chrome does not crash when Flash is executed. If this becomes an issue, to prevent this, disable Flash from chrome://plugins/

The following URL contains a repository for SLE_11 (works on SLED 11 SP2) for the Subpixel (freetype2) version, needed for some software including Google Chrome. As a result, a popup appears stating that some repository locations are unavailable on the GNOME desktop.

http://repos.opensuse-community.org/subpixel/SLE_11/

The cause is there is a file Subpixel.repo that is automatically imported when using the URL with an invalid baseurl path.
The baseurl of http://pmbs-api.links2linux.org:8080/Subpixel/SLE_11/ was working until Wednesday, 2/20/13.

[Subpixel]
name=Subpixel hinting enabled packages (SLE_11)
type=rpm-md
baseurl=http://pmbs-api.links2linux.org:8080/Subpixel/SLE_11/
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1

To correct the issue, I simply changed the URL to point to the original location instead (http://repos.opensuse-community.org/subpixel/SLE_11/)

To change this, go to YaST > Software Repositories.
