How to Reset KDE as the Default Desk After Login

SUSE Server 11.

Usually, after I login, I see the SUSE/KDE desk. But now after I login, I see the FVWM as the default, instead.

How can I reset the DEFAULT log in desk to SUSE/KDE, not FVWM?

Thanks

Scott

PS: Some file could have got changed by accident. It happened after some random key strokes when monitor is off. Now everytime log in, I get the FVWM desk, on which I see some ICONS such as:

2 Big Eyes
FVWM
Graphics
Tools
Shells

What do the following report?

  • grep DISPLAYMANAGER= /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager
  • grep DEFAULT_WM /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager

By default they’re both unset, even with a graphical desktop installed.

/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager, DISPLAYMANAGER=“kdm”

/etc/sysconfig/windowmanager, DEFAULT_WM=“startkde”

What happens if you set those both to blank (i.e. just two double
quotes) then re-login?
