How to upgrade sles sap application kernel version from 3.12.49-11-default to latest (3.12.62-60.62.1 or 3.12.74-60.64.66).
Please share the pre-requisite for kernel upgrade.

The version 3.12.49-11 above would appear to suggest that your SLES 12
SP1 for SAP Applications installation is using the original version of
the kernel from when it was installed and has not been updated since. Is
this the case?
In order to get an updated kernel you should register your server,
either with the SUSE Customer Center (SCC) or via a local SUSE Manager
or SMT server, which will then give you access to updated packages.
You should also note that general support for SLES 12 SP1 for SAP
Applications ends in less than six months on 31 May 2018[1].
