Linux kernel upgrade

Hi All,

I am an HANA admin and not much experienced on Linux kernel upgrades.
SAP suggested us to move from kernel version 3.0.76 to 3.0.101-0.47.7.1

We have newly installed Linux and Hana database on the server and by default with SLES 11 SP3 the kernel version came as : 3.0.76

  1. Where to download the patch file for this.
( I have already tried in https://scc/suse.com, but not able to find ).

  2. How to install the patch , once we download , Is there any backups needs to performed before patching ?
Please send me if you have any document on this.

Best Regards,
Venkata Ramakrishna

Hi
If you go back to SCC and look under the registered system there are
mirror lists and credentials, you can use the URL’s to grab packages
and use the the mirror credentials as user name and password.

Else you can head off to the following URL(s) login and search and
download;
https://download.suse.com/index.jsp
https://download.suse.com/patch/finder/

I would then pop them into a directory and use this as a local, plain
rpm repository which you can add via YaST software repositories.
