HP Proliant DL DL360p Gen8 - Installing SLES 11 sp3

Hi

I have a new HP Proliant DL DL360p Gen8 and I am having trouble installing SLES 11 sp3 on this server using the ISO image @;

Can not seem to boot off the HDD when trying the initial boot after installation!

When I run system crash & repair seems to indicate a problem with the Kernel! This is a new machine and according to HP the hardware is fine but this does not solve my issue

Does anyone have a step by step guide to install this OS on this server … seems that HP and SUSE should have a link somewhere?

How can I check that my drivers are up to date especially the RAID controller and such? Is there a special configuration of the RAID controller to install SLES 11 ?

Does your server have a Px2x series Smart Array controller? If so, have you

Hi Simon,

I have checked the version of the image I have which is 1.4.88

I will check the other links here and also will run a repair report and post to see if anything stands out

Hi Simon,

Making some progress here …

I have made 2 partitions ( 1 for OS - 2 disks(Raid 1); 1 for data - 6 disks Raid (50) )

I am now getting the following error when trying to boot from the Hard Disks

Grub Loading stage 1.5
Grub loading, please wait …
Error 21

Any ideas ??
