Looking for ideas here on a modern way of documenting an enterprise IT
infrastructure. Ideally, no cost / open source. Something like MediaWiki
but perhaps with features that show system depencencies & relationships
(network services, storage, OS, backups, SNMP or similar, monitoring, etc.)
Main focus is documenting the infrastructure, perhaps to include
screenshots, graphics, schematics, code boxes for conf files & scripts, etc.
Suggestions of useful, reliable, non-free tools will be considered.
Would be cool if it had a dashboard for management.

Been setting up nagios+nagvis - nice relationship mapping, but still
lacks a certain something that a mediawiki would address. ah well, maybe
a later revision can fold that in, plus config change management.
I’ve worked for a variety of clients, so I’ve had the chance to see the
different ways this is done. Most effective does seem to be using a
Wiki. I cannot remember the name of the commercial Wiki I saw, but it
was good. It may be worthwhile looking at alternatives to MediaWiki.
