There was a pastor walking back to his car through a graveyard after a
service when he heard a man sobing uncontrollably. As the pastor got closer
he could make out what the man was saying through his tears.
“Why did you have to leave? Why? Oh why?”
The pastor came up to the man and asked gently if he could pray for him.
The man looked up and nodded. “I would appreciate it”, he choked out.
As the pastor was bowing his head to pray he asked, “Who was the departed?”
The man answered, still shaking with sobs, “My wife’s first husband.”
