Do you want to install Windows 8 in place of SLED11 or alongside
so that both are available?

I want to replace SLED entirely and install windows 8.

Burn the Windows ISO you mentioned you have to a DVD or use it to make a bootable USB flash drive, boot the machine from the DVD or USB flash drive and go through the Windows 8 install process. That the machine currently has SLED on it seems essentially irrelevant because you’re not interested in keeping it. The process would be the same if the machine had Ubuntu on it, or OpenSolaris, or FreeBSD or no operating system at all.

Do what mikewillis said but consider this:

  1. If there is a service partition on your notebook, consider whether
or not you want to leave it there or wipe it out when you install
    Windows.

  2. Before you begin, you should verify that Windows 8 is supported and
that HP has the necessary drivers.

  3. You may want to create a set of restore DVD’s for your SLED system
    before you wipe it out.
