KDE 4.9 upgrade from KDE 3.5.1 on SUSE 12.2 - still 3.5.1

After the KDE upgrade to 4.9, after I re-boot, I am still booting with KDE 3.5.1.

Is there a KDE configuration that I must change to enable booting to KDE 4.9?
