You need to register your SLES server to get access to SUSE official repositories.

SLES11 is not related to openSUSE so do not add openSUSE-specific
repositories to your server as doing so will cause problems which it
sounds like you’ve discovered the hard way.

When you register your server it should gain the correct repositories
(SLES11-SP4-Pool and SLES11-SP4-Updates).

Given your mention of “SAP hana” are you using “regular” SLES11 SP4 or
SLES for SAP Applications 11 SP4? The distinction is important as there
are additional repositories for the latter.

Yes.

We can provide you with URLs but they won’t work without registering
your server.

Can I ask why/what you’re using SLES11 SP4 for? Perhaps your needs would
be better served another way.

hello ,

thank you for reply , i think that one comes for SAP HANA , because when i setup it , it is automatically make partitions and install only required applications , not everything it is very light , no additional tools or software installed … here is result from cat /proc/version :

hanab2:~ # cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.0.101-80-default (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 4.3.4 [gcc-4_3-branch revision 152973] (SUSE Linux) ) #1 SMP Fri Jul 15 14:30:41 UTC 2016 (eb2ba81)

and this is the release :

hanab2:~ # cat /etc/*release
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11
PATCHLEVEL = 4
NAME="SLES"
VERSION="11.4"
VERSION_ID="11.4"
PRETTY_NAME="SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP4"
ID="sles"
ANSI_COLOR="0;32"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:suse:sles:11:4"

any idea?

Nobody can “help” you. Without a (paid) subscrition, you can’t acess the
repositories, the URL isn’t even a secret (it’s in the docs), but they
don’t help you.

And quite frankly: You use SAP Hana “for personal use”? Come on…

The above output suggests you are using “regular” SUSE Linux Enterprise
Server (SLES) 11 SP4 and not the SLES for SAP Applications release. See
https://www.suse.com/products/sles-for-sap/ for information on the
latter which includes FAQs which cover the differences between “regular”
SLES and the SAP release.

Note that a 60 day free trial is available for both which would allow
you to install either and fully patch but then after the 60 days has
passed you would lose access to further updates.

I should also note that whilst SLES for SAP Applications gives you
“regular” SLES plus additional SUSE software it doesn’t give you SAP
software so you’ll need to get that from SAP.

I’ve just replied to one of your earlier messages with perhaps more
information than your post required though I think it helps answer here.

To follow on from that reply you should not use “regular” SLES if you
want to run SAP - for SAP you should use SLES for SAP Applications.
However that will not give you SAP software as you need to get that from
SAP - think of SLES for SAP Applications as a tweaked and tuned (for
SAP) version of “regular” SLES.

It’s actually interesting some of the things you list against SLES12
since SLE12 was designed to be more streamlined than SLE11 with things
like picking one application to do a job rather than providing multiple
plus also the move of particular groups of packages into modules (i.e.
web scripting).

If you’re starting from scratch then I would strongly advise using SLES
(for SAP Applications) 12 SP3 rather than 11 SP4 as the latter, whilst
still supported by SUSE, is considered legacy. This would also support
later releases by SAP.
