Our SLES 11 SP1 Server (production server) has a graphical issue & the
xserver not loading properly. When xdm is restarted, getting the below
error. When startx is given at the command prompt gui is loading, only
cursor is visible & stops. No login screen is available.
XDM Status:
Shutting down service gdm
done
Starting service gdmstartproc: signal catched /usr/sbin/gdm:
Segmentation fault
failed
Please help us to resolve the Xserver issue & to get the normal
desktop.

Any idea how this when belly up?
In any case, the X configuration seems broken… you can try
reconfiguring X by running ‘sax2 -r -a’. Before doing so make a copy of
the current config in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
