Novell Client broken after SLED11 sp1 to sp2 migration

Migration on-line from SLED 11 sp1 to sp2 was almost successful, last week.

Noted some javascript errors during installation, and a request for the SDK DVD1 at some stage.

It may not be relevant that the /var partition had less than 260MB free space possibly due to an old attempt to install zenworks, and I have subsequently (today) removed all the zenworks modules, and deleted zenworks data (to regain 7GB free space)

I thought it strange that the migration ran twice, and after the second run, which updated the kernel, Novell Client failed to start with errors alluding to novfs and NCP library.

Any ideas how to fix Novell Client?

Fixed it. Needed to install novfs-kmp-default. For some reason, it was missing.

Hmm I thought SLED11 SP2 used kernel 3.0 and the Novell Client doesn’t
like that. Which release of the kernel are you using? “uname -r” will show.

Thanks.

If so, your campus could benefit from joining the Novell Technology

Current kernel: 3.0.13-0.27-default
