NTFS Support

So according to this https://forums.suse.com/showthread.php?6221-SLES-12-and-mounting-NTFS-parition&highlight=ntfs

SuSE 12 has only put NTFS support in their desktop product and not server? I dont license desktop so I don’t have access to the ISO. I find it really odd that SUSE would not support NTFS and keep the packages in their main repository.

Can anyone point me to a supported configuration for enabling NTFS support on SLES12.1?

A supported configuration? The closest is probably to download the
ntfs-3g code and add it yourself, though you probably cannot expert SUSE
to support that any more than you can expect them to support any other
code they do not ship to you.

On the other hand, I’m curious why you want NTFS access on a server. On a
desktop I understand, as some external drives use it, but on a server I
would think you would want to stick with native filesystems.

Good luck.

I install ntfs support (ntfs-3g and ntfs-tools) from the SLED12 media.
ab - I need NTFS support on my server because sometime I need to write to or read from an external USB disk that is formatted with NTFS
