With an enterprise product SUSE are not in the habit of just bumping
software versions when new releases are available. Which fix(es) and/or
feature(s) of open-vm-tools 10.x are you wanting to use?

I was hoping that the cut, copy, paste issue with vmware consoles was addressed/solved. It doesn’t work with the current open-vm-tools 9.4.0.x - I had both Suse and Vmware looking into it and it came back as gnome 3 libraries used sre different from the gnome 2 and that’s why it didn’t work. At least that is what I was told by vmware. Currently trying to get a update from vmware on this issue.
I reached out to our VMware contacts and they came back with this: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2144666 > Few functionalities are disabled for open-vm-tools on SLED 12 - this also effects SLES 12
I’m glad to see vmware still working on it.
