Package mrtg.s390x missing in the SLES 11

Hey you guys

First of all, thanks for the attention.

I was using MRTG + RRDTOOL in one solution over the SLES 10 but now after upgrading my environment I realized that the package is missing from the SLES 11 repos and I’m unable to use the package from the SLES 10 due to policy restrictions in my company.

Package:
mrtg.s390x

Version
2.12.2-14.2

Do you have any idea what happed with the package mrtg.s390x in the SLES 11 , for example if it was merged to another package or if the installation package name was changed ?

Thank you very much.

The mrtg package isn’t provided with SLES11 but fortunately it is
available the openSUSE Build Service (although not supported by SUSE).

Whilst you don’t say which version of SLES11 you’re using, unfortunately
there doesn’t appear to be a package for System z so you’ll need to
rebuild the source RPM for the appropriate version or compile from
source code.

Oops it would probably help if I included a link to the above - see
https://build.opensuse.org/

To find a download, click on “package search interface” in third
paragraph (below “Welcome to openSUSE Build Service”) then enter mrtg.
When packages are listed click “mrtg” and then “Show other versions”
(below the “Direct Install” button). Next click “Show more packages for
unsupported distributions” to list SLE 11.1 and SLE 11 SP1 and finally
click whichever version of SLES11 you’re using and “Show unstable
packages” if that’s shown. That will reveal downloads for various
architectures (but not System z) plus Source. Click the Source link for
the server:monitoring link for your version of SLES11.

Hi Simon

Thanks for the detailed explanation and confirmation.

Most probably I’ll install it using the updated source from http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/

I’ll try to find an alternative for monitoring as well.

Thanks again
