For some reason the pre-release ISO uses double the RAM usage as the normal ISO. This boosted RAM usage makes it impossible to install via ISO using just 1GB of RAM. Is this just because it is a pre-release, or will the RAM usage be going up in RancherOS 0.6?
Memory usage will be higher in v0.6.0, but it definitely won’t be as high as it is in the RCs. We’re going to mark this as a known problem with the release and aim to improve it in the release following v0.6.0.
