i’m not sure if this is worth burning one of our few SRs.

I’m sure it isn’t… but IIRC there something about getting SRs refunded in case of actual OS bugs.

See my response in the forum, I’ve reported this to SUSE as well. Sometimes things are handled that way, sometimes the developers need an actual customer SR to work on this.

Would you be willing to test any fixes that might come up, and provide feedback - IOW, if the SR was not charged to you, would you be willing to drive this issue?
