I have a couple of lab configurations setup with Rancher. I was able to deploy a RKE2 Kubernetes cluster from Rancher to vCenter without any issues initially. Now when deploying a cluster, it accesses vCenter no issues, I select all the settings, templates, network, etc. It has no issues seeing vCenter resources but when creating the cluster it cannot create a VM.
In lab it is all admin level access and nothing has changed.
One observation, I had vCenter 8.0.2 older version and it also worked to deploy RKE2 clusters and seemed to stop working. When updating vCenter to the current version it seemed to resolve it and then stopped working again. It looks like it might be a vCenter problem but I cannot find logging to show where any sort of an error is… if Rancher or vCenter. I can only see a successful login on vCenter side from Rancher server.
Anyone else have issues with VMware from Rancher?
