i have training network at home…
there is a 32 bit sles11 server and oracle 11 on a desktop…
i installed it as backside and database server…
it worked normally…i could access it with putty or vnc and client sqlplus
previous week i changed my notebook… win7 pro…
after new notebook, when i opned suse, it was resetted my dsl modem…
is someone know why? why sles begin to work as dns server?

ab had asked some questions of you in addition to suggesting posting over
here:

Is there something causing you to think that SLES caused your DSL modem
to reset in correctly?[/color]
and:

you should provide a lot of information from the system itself on what
happened, from things like thedmesgcommand, /var/log/messages, etc.[/color]
Please provide that information so we can better assist you.

I don’t understand what you mean. Log files don’t control anything, they
tell you what happened.
First question ab asked was what is causing you to think that SLES is
somehow resetting your DSL modem?
Second question was for some information from the output of the dmesg
command (you’ll want to reproduce the problem and then run dmesg and clip
around what was happening when the modem reset). You’ll want to extract
information from the /var/log/messages file.
You’ll also need to tell us a little bit about the hardware in use - what
NIC in the server, what type of DSL modem, etc.
Without specific information, there’s not a lot anyone can do to help you

From my previous post:
“You’ll want to extract information from the /var/log/messages file.”
Don’t post the entire file, but cause the problem to happen (whatever you
think triggers it), and then cut/paste the lines from the above log file
and paste them into a reply here, inside “code” tags (use the “#” button
in the advanced post editor).
But you also still haven’t said why you think your SLES box is causing
this problem.
