Significance of Host Registration URL

Hello,

Running Rancher 1.60 in multi-master HA clustered mode, I was wondering what the significance of the “Host Registration URL” is. If I have previously added hosts to a management server fqdn. But then put all the management servers behind a load balancer.

Do I need to update the hosts/other rancher servers to use the new updated (load-balanced) URL?

Or once the ‘servers’ are in the cluster they talk via IP address etc and dont use the registration URL anymore?

You would need to update your existing hosts that were given the old registration URL. To do so, you would just need to do is rerun the docker run ... rancher/agent command that is displayed in the UI after you update the registration URL.
