I have a new install of SLES 11 on an IBM server.
Everything seems normal except for one detail. Trying to execute shutdown -h now, I cannot make the server shut down. It only reboots, as if executing shutdown -r now. So trying to shutdown, both the option -h and -r are rebooting the server.
I can’t see any error messages, nor messages in the logs that indicates why SUSE will not apply -h (halt) and shut down.
Here is the OS info:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11
PATCHLEVEL = 2
kernel: 3.0.13-0.27-default
Has anyone had this problem? Is there a patch that can correct this problem?
Thanks
