Anyone can verify if SLES 9 SP2 will run in IBM z114 as a Linux guest running on top of z/VM ver.5.4? Many thanks

Uh… your IBM support will be able to answer this. AFAIK, you can’t really run
a z114 and not have any type of support with IBM. Give those IBMers a shot…
they’re pretty good at knowing what works and what doesn’t.

I already asked but their answers are by the book (with a screenshot from the pdf). They didn’t answer directly as if of course they are pushing you to upgrade to the supported level of SLES (which is SLES10 SP4). We don’t have enough time to upgrade the current version to the latest but we need to replace the old machine and need to buy some time to upgrade.
