SM3 Enable Configuration Management

Hi i’m trying the SM3.

I like to make a System, shown in Target Systems, to a Managed System.

The rhncfg* Package is installed at the Client. I marked the System and clicked “enable SUSE Manager Configuration Management”. The sate is green, no Error.
Then i go to the System (a SLES12.2) and try to run rhn_check local.
but rhn_check is not found.

rhncfg
rhncfg-actions
rhncfg-client
rhncfg-Management

are installed on the System.

Where can i find the rhn_check?

Best regards
Helga

For all with the same problem like me:

  1. rhn_check wird im “alten” spacewalk Kommunikationsstack verwendet.
  2. Das was in der Web UI vom SUSE unter “Configuration Management” zu
finden ist, basiert auf dem “alten” spacewalk Kommunikationsstack und
kann nicht mit Salt angebundenen Clients verwendet werden.

  1. rhn_check is part of the “old” spacewalk communications stack
  2. what’s shown under “Configuration Management” (within the SUSE Manager UI) applies to the “old” spacewalk stack and cannot be used in conjunction with clients configured to use Salt.

I have the exact same problem

So you cannot use configuration management with the salt client through the Suse Manager UI?
