Client tools ....

The quick start instructions state that one needs to import the client
tools channel. I’m assuming this means the suse-manager-tools.
mgr-ncc-sync -l lists these as unavailable. Now what?

Yes, that’s right.

mgr-ncc-sync -l lists these as unavailable. Now what?

Have you properly registered SUSE Manager Server with a SUSE Manager registration code ?

If you’re running SLE11, the core set of packages required for patch&update management with SUSE Manager
are included in the SLE11 SP1 and SP2 base channels.
The manager-tools channel contains additional packages, like the ones required for monitoring.
